Beach holidays can provide families with some of their fondest memories. Everyone is relaxed, enjoying the sunshine, surf, and sand, and just letting the worries and stresses of day-to-day life melt away. But heading to the beach with kids can at times be worrying, as you want to keep them both entertained and safe. If you’re planning a beach vacation for your family and are wondering what type of things you should bring along with you or activities you should plan, there here are a few important things to keep in mind.
Beach tips with kids, when you’re traveling:
A trip to the beach for kids wouldn’t be complete with a few toys, and whether you want to bring paddles, balls, and sports gear, or just the traditional bucket and spade is entirely up to you. Try, however, to bring something along that the whole family can take in part in.
2. Bring an Umbrella or Even a Tent
If you have young children then it is essential that you have a space for them to get out of the sun and off the sand. You can use a an umbrella, a tent or even just a beach towel depending on how much effort you want to put in. We highly recommend tents, tents provide great places for kids to have a nap if needed.
The most important thing to remember when bringing your kids to the beach is sunscreen—and it is as important for you as it is for your children. Don’t make the mistake of buying low level SPF sunscreen either, kids have sensitive skin and you’ll want to protect with at least SPF 50.
4. Paper Towels, Wipes, Diapers
Depending on the age of your children it is always good to have a variety of goods around for cleaning-up messes, whether it’s sticky dripping from an ice-cream or popsicle, or a spilled drink. The last thing you want to do is be using your beach towels for a cleanup operation.
5. Snacks and Drinks
If you’re planning on spending the day at the beach then you’ll want to bring a number of snacks and drinks with you. Kids tend to expel a lot of energy while playing out in the sun, and it is important that they stay hydrated and energized with food throughout the day. Water, juice, cookies etc.
6. Change of clothes
You know what happen when you go to the beach with kids, everything can happen. Swimsuits can end up up a fightful mess. It’s a good idea to change their clothes just after leave the beach.
Beach holidays are just a few click aways these days with so many online deals out there. Finally it is important to remember that the beach is both a fun and dangerous place, so be sure to always have your children within sight for the utmost safety.
